It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved classmate Donna (Dase) Tarpley.

Donna Dase-Tarpley

Of Wilkins Twp., age 65, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Loving mother of Kayla Tarpley of Philadelphia and Kyle Tarpley (Jackie) of N. Versailles. Proud Ya-Ya of Kingston. Sister of Diane Evans of Olive Branch, MS, and David Dase of Verona. Dear aunt of Melanie Burgess, Matthew Evans, Leann Dase, and Daniel Dase.

Donna completed Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of Pittsburgh. She was a dedicated teacher of 8th Grade English at Sterrett Classical Academy and 4th Grade English at Spring Hill Elementary School. Donna was also a talented figure skater and instructor for 10 years. She was heavily involved in her community and started the Helping Hands Food Drive through Hope Lutheran Church. She was an active member at Connected Community Church in East Pittsburgh. As a teacher, Donna loved her students and she was a bright light for many people whose lives she impacted. She will be greatly missed.

Friends and family will be invited to celebrate Donna’s life at a gathering to be scheduled in the coming weeks.
